A Study of Relation between Ego-resilience and Health Promotion Behavior Practice in the School-aged Children

Abstract
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the relation of ego-resilience and health promotion behavior practice in the School-aged Children. Methods: The participants for this study were 469 students from four elementary schools, located in S city and P city. For data analysis, descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson`s correlation coefficients and Scheffe`s test were used with SPSS WIN ver 18.0 program. Results: The mean scores for ego-resilience and health promotion behavior practice were 3.48¡¾0.63 and 4.05¡¾0.57 respectively. There were significant positive correlation between ego-resilience and health promotion behavior practice(r=.834, p<.001). In the relationship ego-resilience by general characteristics, there were statistically significant differences in sex, health condition. And in the relationship health promotion behavior practice by general characteristics, there were statistically significant differences in sex, school, hospital, parent in health information acquisition method and health condition Conclusion: The finding from this study indicate a need to develop ego-resilience improvement program to health promotion behavior practice in the School-aged Children.
